# Use this guide in your AI

> Add the Growing Regions Program Guide to your AI assistant as a connector (an MCP server) and ask it about Round 3, funded projects and the eligibility rules. It is read-only, needs no sign-in, and every answer links back to its sources. The server address is https://growingregions.com.au/mcp.

**Server address:** `https://growingregions.com.au/mcp`

Read-only. No sign-in. Powered by Litflows.

## What can your AI do with it?

Once connected, your assistant can call six read-only tools. Each answer carries links to the official sources and our disclaimer.

| Tool | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Search funded projects | Searches the projects funded in Rounds 1 and 2 by state, type, round, grant size or keyword. |
| Get a funded project | One funded project in detail: applicant, location, grant, the department's description and similar projects. |
| Round 3 status | What is confirmed about Round 3, including that the funding pool is shared with Thriving Suburbs and the split is not yet announced. |
| Check eligibility gates | Checks a project idea against the hard eligibility rules used in Rounds 1 and 2, including the Round 2 out-of-scope list, with citations for each rule. |
| Get a guide section | Reads any page of this guide, such as eligibility, how to prepare or the FAQ. |
| Free Support Package | What the free Support Package includes and the link to register. |

It cannot apply for a grant, register you or send anything. To get the full guide and an advisor call, [register for the free Support Package](https://growingregions.com.au/support-package/).

## ChatGPT

1. In ChatGPT, open **Plugins** and select the **+** button, then **Add custom MCP server**.
2. Name it `Growing Regions Program Guide` and add a short description if you like.
3. Under **Connection**, enter `https://growingregions.com.au/mcp`.
4. Set **Authentication** to **No authentication**.
5. Tick **I understand and want to continue**, then select **Create as a plugin**.
6. Review the tools and install it. In a chat, type **@** and pick Growing Regions Program Guide.

On a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin may need to allow custom MCP servers first.

## Claude

1. In Claude, go to **Customize** and then **Connectors**.
2. Select **Add**, hover over **Custom**, then select **Web**.
3. Name it `Growing Regions Program Guide`, enter `https://growingregions.com.au/mcp`, then select **Continue**.
4. When asked about authentication, choose **No sign in**, then select **Add**.
5. In a chat, open the **+** menu, then **Connectors**, and switch Growing Regions Program Guide on.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an organisation Owner adds custom connectors under **Organization settings** and then **Connectors**. Free plans can add one custom connector.

## Cursor

Add the server to `.cursor/mcp.json` in your project, or to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` to use it everywhere:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "growing-regions": {
      "url": "https://growingregions.com.au/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Cursor lists the tools in its MCP settings. The agent asks before each tool call unless you approve it to run automatically.

## VS Code

1. Open the Command Palette and run **MCP: Add Server**.
2. Choose **HTTP**, enter `https://growingregions.com.au/mcp`, then give it a name.
3. Choose whether to add it to your user profile or this workspace.

Or add it to your MCP configuration file yourself:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "growing-regions": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://growingregions.com.au/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Then use it from Chat in agent mode.

## Any other MCP client

- **Transport:** Streamable HTTP. Send JSON-RPC as POST to `https://growingregions.com.au/mcp`.
- **Authentication:** none.
- **Protocol versions:** 2026-07-28, plus 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26 and 2024-11-05 for older clients.
- **Server card:** `https://growingregions.com.au/mcp/server-card`, listed in `https://growingregions.com.au/.well-known/ai-catalog.json`.
- **Plain-text index:** [llms.txt](https://growingregions.com.au/llms.txt) lists every page as markdown.

## Prompts to try

- "What do we know about Growing Regions Round 3, and when will it open?"
- "Show me pool and aquatic projects funded in Western Australia, with links."
- "We are a shire council in regional Queensland planning a new community hall, worth around two million dollars, construction not started. Check it against the eligibility gates and tell me what is unknown."
- "Which out-of-scope categories applied in Round 2?"
- "Summarise the guide's advice on how to prepare, then tell me how to get the free Support Package."

## Good to know

- Answers come only from this guide and the official documents it cites. Always confirm against the published guidelines before you apply.
- Round 3 guidelines are not yet published, so eligibility checks use the Round 1 and 2 rules as precedent. A check is not an eligibility determination.
- Nothing you type into your AI is sent to us by this connector, apart from the tool request itself. We keep standard server logs; see our [privacy policy](https://growingregions.com.au/privacy/).
