## What is the project?

The department's Round 2 funded projects list describes it this way:

> The project will provide streetscape renewal to improve the appearance and functionality of the First Avenue in the CBD of Maroochydore. It will upgrade street infrastructure and prioritise pedestrians over vehicular traffic, provide shared space for cyclists and other active transport users, create places to socialise and meet, provide opportunities for footpath dining and improved foot traffic to traders, create a continuous street tree canopy, include new street furniture and; provide a feature deck with views out to the Maroochy River mouth.

Applicant, location, state and funding are also from that list ([page 6](https://www.infrastructure.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/growing-regions-program-round-2-funded-projects-september-2025.pdf#page=6)).
